going once, going twice...

so here's my painting for the auction at the elementary school and i'm feeling pretty good about it. i'm naturally a collage/conceptual painter but i wanted to challenge myself. i think it's terribly amateurish but i'm willing to accept the fact that in this style of painting- i am an amateur.

Oh, I miss watching you paint. Remember when you gave me the "steal your face" tattoo? Remember the blind paining? Big Sigh..... I just miss you! And, by the way, I dont think it is at all amateurish (coming straing from an ametuer.

well whether you think that or not, i think it's really, really good. i have been wondering for a long time...did dyann TELL you to paint birch trees or was that your choice? anyway, i love the painting. well done, oh highly artistic one.

pepper ann- thanks, the birch trees was my choice inspired by the "many pretty trees all around the world." we'll have to paint together soon. i didn't get my fill on friday.

I want to paint! But then if I did I would want them to end up looking like yours, not what I could create. I really love this one lyd! How does the auction work? Is everything homemade?

Lyd, I think the birch bark turned out great. You captured the texture but kept the more abstract feel at the same time. Nice.

michelle- i'm not really sure how the elementary school pta auction works- i've never been. but i've heard that people make stuff or find businesses to donate items, services, gift certificates, etc. there are two auctions- one is silent, and then the good stuff goes into the live auction. i'm interested to see how it does but only if it does well!
katie- thanks!
